School of Fashion Technology, was established in 1998 under the 116 year old Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS), Pune, India in collaboration with National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), SOFT is the pioneer of fashion education and one of the top fashion design schools of the country.

Textile Design – 4 years
Fashion Communication – 4 years
Fashion Apparel Design – 3 years
Minimum 10+2, higher secondary education any recognized higher secondary school board.
Fashion Design & Clothing Technology – 2 years
Fashion Design Clothing Technology – 1 year
Apparel Production & Merchandising Management – 2 years
Computer Aided Textile Design – 2 years
Minimum 10+2+3/4, higher secondary education from any recognized higher secondary school board and UGC recognized Degree or Diploma.
M. Sc Fashion Design – 2 years
Graduate in Fashion Design from any statutory university in India or abroad is eligible for admission to the M.Sc. (FD) directly and does not need to take the entrance test.
Graduate in any discipline from any statutory university in India or abroad may take admission to the programme after successfully completing the entrance test and interview conducted by the YCMOU for the M.Sc. (FD) with atleast 60% marks.
Design Aptitude Test to analyze the creative skills and Personal Interview is the process of getting admission in any design stream/discipline. The claim of the candidate on that seat shall be forfeited if she fails to pay the university programme fee by the said last date.
The selected candidates who have paid the amount of UPF shall start taking the services of counseling etc. from the study center as per the schedule discussed between students and study center coordinators. Such candidates shall be assigned a Permanent Registration Number (PRN) by the university and will become the students of the SOFT.
The common entrance test (CET) consists of:
Creative Ability Test – 60 marks – 1.30 hrs
General Ability Test – 40 marks – 1.00 hr
Weightage of SOFT-SNDT Programs
CET – 60% , Qualifying Exam – 20%, Portfolio/Interview – 20%
Weightage of SOFT-NIFT
CET – 75%, Qualifying Exam – 25%
